In the past three weeks three earthquakes hit Italy and the land is still shaking even today; 25 dead, hundreds of injured, thousands of people homeless, billions of Euros of damages and a lot of fear in the north part of the country and this last one even in the south.
Our thoughts and sympathy goes to all the affected people.
Still there is room for thought in these events; if we take a different look at what happened we can see that among all the buildings that fell down many are ancient buildings and churches. Many monuments belonging to the cultural and historical patrimony of the area are lost with billions of damages and a sense of losing a piece of history. Many churches are fallen and many are unusable, in a town all the three churches are gone. A priest died trying to save a statue of the Madonna from his church hit by the first earthquake, while inside, the second quake hit and all went down.
Many accidents involving churches have happened in Italy over the past decades; some even when the believers were inside worshipping, St Francis of Assisi ( '97 earthquake) and father Pious are just two examples.
Surely these events should bring us to think that something is wrong. How come in the country where is the site of the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican, so many churches are falling?
A few days before the second earthquake the pope, trying to defend his house from the many scandals it is going through recently, quoted a verse from the bible where it says that the house built on rock won’t fall,
Matthew 7 vs. 24 – 29. Isn’t it weird that the man that claims to be the one that God talks to and that reveals His will to, gets such a response from God with so many churches falling down? These pictures are only a few examples:
Let’s analyse the facts.
- A priest dies trying to save a statue of Mary the mother of Jesus.
The second commandment says in Exodus 20 vs. 4-6: “Thou shall not make unto thee any graven images, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shall not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.”
The priest (a priest of God wouldn’t have had an idol) died trying to save an idol of stone in what they call the house of God, so statue, church and priest finished under the rubble.

- Italy is such an example of disobeying this commandment: almost every town has got its own patron saint that the people celebrate on a particular date of the year, usually carrying its statue along a procession and doing all their festivity rites, the churches are full of graven images and the people pray to all the saints in the calendar, and there is more than one per each day of the same.
- The pope says referring to the roman church that the house built on rock won’t fall, yet the same so called houses of God are falling all over the quake hit areas. They are the houses where the worshippers gather to pray to their saints, to celebrate their feasts, they are full of statues, frescos and all abominations, and the people think that they are worshipping God, but God said that you cannot serve two masters and that He is a jealous God.
- But your house o king of Babylon, is not built on rock as you say, your house, the Roman Catholic Church is built on lies, deception, corruption, greed, bloodshed, theft, murder, abuse of all mankind and all abominations, your house combined paganism and Christianity and made an abomination in the eyes of the Maker of Heaven and Earth. Look at what is happening and read the signs of the last days, giving half a million euros to help the earthquake victims won’t save your house from what is coming, especially when it wasn’t yours in the first place, you gave the offerings of the people on a day that the only purpose we see for it is to collect big money. The Vatican from its beginning has occupied the place of one of the legs of the Roman Empire; the other leg is occupied by the political system that is all over the planet. In the book of Daniel chapter 2 vs. 31 – 45 we can find the explanation of the legs metaphor for the last empire on Earth that still rules now and will rule until our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Messiah will come back as the rightful Ruler and King Himself.
What is happening are signs of the last days, the time at the end, the fulfilment of prophecies, the Bible is full of them from the beginning to the end, if we read it diligently with an hearth for God He will reveal to us the truth and the interpretation of the sayings of the old prophets and we can understand better the world around us, the system that we live in and where resides the only hope.
